GEKKOBEAT.COM (former orientaljazz.com) represents oriental, african and jazzy artists and organises concerts and festivals worldwide, such as the Rencontre Musiclaes de Rabat 05


From 1989 to 1999 Norbert Hausen (*1968) was responsible for the preparation and execution of numerous lecture tours ( e.g. Erich von Daeniken, Dr. Ruediger Dahlke) and other events (Konzertagentur Bertheau, Würzburg-Germany). Since 1992 he participates in the organisation of the Open-Air Festival "Songs an einem Sommerabend" of the Bayrischer Rundfunk (Bavarian TV-station). Apart from its activity as a tour leader he trained himself further in languages, music and culture work with numerous stays in Asia, Africa, Arabia and Eastern Europe. In co-operation with the Goethe Institut Inter Nationes, the Institut Français and other organisations he manages world-wide concert tours (e.g. Eastern Europe, Iran, Morocco, Tunisia, Portugal, Spain etc.) with different artists and works on the yearly programmation of the international Festival Rawafid in Morocco.
Since January 2007 Norbert Hausen lives in westafrican music metropol Dakar, Senegal where he is activ in the african culture scene. Due to the modern communiation he continues his agency activities worldwide.
Thorsten Birk (*1971)

...left the wonderful rhine countryside in the age of 20 to explore Hamburg - and he still is!!
While Norbert was travelling the world, Thorsten learned the music-biz from the very first steps. Together with Alex Buchal, he founded germany's first drum and bass labels "Don-Q Records" and a publishing company " Q-Media Control".
In 2003, he settled with Hamburg hip hop producer Bubblez to run Hidden Tape Records, where the Schanzensampler, a compilation of neighbourhood music, was releases in 2003 and 2005.
All over the years, he joined forces with Norbert Hausen for some projects, but in 2006, due to the plan of Norbert to leave europe to make a living in his beloved continent Africa, they arranged to force the booking business together. The Beginning of Gekkobeat !
